Impedance: measured in Ohms, it represents the total resistance that a cable has when an electrical current goes through it.

We were looking for the good material to create a speaker.

We wanted to get a resistance of 8 Ohms, because we thought that this was the ideal resistance for a working speaker.

So we tested several materials.

Testing resistance of a coated wire

Result: this material is low resisting, so we would need a lot of it to create a working speaker.

Result: Resistance seem to dicrease when the surface increase.

Result: Resistance seem to not change, no matter what the surface. The hypothesis would be that the change is so small that it doesn’t affect what we see on the screen of the ammeter.
